BIENNAL CIUTAT I CIÈNCIA 2025

“Urbetrònica, a work cited among the Essentials of the City and Science Biennial, alongside two pieces from the New Art Foundation. The 2025 edition will focus on the quantum revolution and will take place from November 18 to 23 at the Born, Barcelona’s History Museum.”

Urbetrònica II, 1999, instalación audiovisual, estructura metálica, piezas electrónicas e informáticas, acero inoxidable, 4 monitores, PC, Software, 480x140x140cm.
"Urbetrònica II" was displayed for twenty-five years at the entrance of the IT company in the sector, becoming the emblematic work of the BEEP Collection of Electronic Art. It is currently hanging at the entrance of the NAC, the New Art Centre in Reus.
It is an architectural construction that depicts the chaotic contemporary city. The shapes that outline buildings can be discerned, culminating in a view that becomes fully visible from the very top. We are confronted with the urban world in action, that space-time realm where technology and human advances rule, and which we can only fully grasp—bare and in its raw dimension—when it falters in its deceptive way. All of this once again reinforces the relationship between space, society, and the people who live within it.
