WATER ECONOMY: SCARCITY, TRANSFORMATION, AND MEMORY, 2025
EXPLORING THE INFINITE OF A LIVED MOMENT. LA FORME DE L'EAU, THE POETICS OF AN INSTANT ON THE FAÇADE OF LO PATI
Collective exhibition through the Centre d'Art Terres de l'Ebre, curated by Vanina Hofman & Valentina Montero

The Facade of Lo Pati will project La Forme De l’Eau, by Marie-France Veyrat and Jaime de los Ríos. It is an audiovisual piece created using scientific tools and fluid dynamics to capture the fall of water, which rises as in the language of dreams, defying Newtonian laws through real-time rendered algorithms.
The piece will kick off the annual cycle Water Economies: scarcity, transformation, and memory.

Marie-France Veyrat, together with Jaime de los Ríos, is participating in the first edition of Water Economies on the giant screen at the Centre d’Art de les Terres de l’Ebre in Amposta with an algorithmic audiovisual projection titled La Forme De l’Eau. Inspired by the shapes of water, the piece simulates fluid brushstrokes in a digital format.
The audiovisual work is accompanied by a first-person narration by the artist Marie-France, spoken in her native language. She recounts a personal story of unexpectedly discovering a waterfall during a family celebration.
Both artists agree that the Lo Pati Center, located in Les Terres de l’Ebre, is the ideal venue for this piece, describing it as a place "where the Sea and the River merge." This project perfectly reflects their vision, capturing the interaction of two natural forces—saltwater and freshwater—to create a phenomenon that symbolizes change and movement.
The work is part of the New Art Collection, an organization dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and study of art connected to science and technology.
